Attorney Mark Mandell represents Paul Seewald – a former Thaddeus McCotter staffer charged with 9 misdemeanor election fraud counts and one felony conspiracy charge.
At the preliminary exam Thursday, Mr. Mandell argued that Mr.
Seewald merely signed the nominating petitions as a circulator – which, if
convicted, is a misdemeanor. He argued
that the Attorney General has failed to show evidence sufficient to support the
felony charge as against Mr. Seewald.
Judge Sean Kavanagh, after hearing the argument, decided to
take the matter under advisement before issuing a ruling.
Mark Mandell, a partner at the law firm of Fausone Bohn, LLP
in Northville, is defending Mr. Seewald against these fraud and conspiracy
allegations.
